Do you catch yourself apologising every time you write a newsletter: “I’m sorry, it’s been ages since I last wrote to you…”?
Life happens, even to the best of us. But there are a few really simple things you can do to help you get into the newsletter groove. None of these tips are rocket science, but I hope they inspire you to rock your newsletter regularly!
1. Have a plan
A plan doesn’t need to be detailed. One or two sentences to prompt you can be more than enough. Even just planning three or four in advance can help keep you on track.
2. Batch when you can.
Batching is the busy content creator’s best friend. Have a bit of spare time this week? Write two newsletters instead of one. Hell, even just sketching out a rough outline while you’ve got the space can make all the difference.
3. Remind yourself.
“My newsletter goes out on a Friday morning!” is easy to remember, right? Well, that is until you get into the flow of other work and Friday lunchtime rolls around and you haven’t even started yet.
Set a reminder on your phone, in Asana, on a sticky note. Bonus points for setting the reminder in advance so you have enough time to actually create the content.
